What to expect
You can expect to be welcomed by a warm, sensitive, big family. As in Scripture there are no distinctions such
as clergy and laity (words foreign to the Bible), but just brothers and sisters in the Lord's family. You can expect everyone to be
assembled in the auditorium as the worship begins. (There is a nursery with attendants provided to care for children under 3 years old).
Singing and Prayer
All are urged to join in the congregational singing as we lift up our voices in praise of God. One of
the brothers will be called upon to offer up his heart prompted prayer of thanksgiving and petition to God for the congregation.
Several such prayers will be addressed to the Father in heaven by His sons in a reverent but similar manner as a child talks to his father.
Communion and Offering
You can expect a time of communion as the congregation gives special attention and reflection
to the meaning of the Lord's Supper. A group of brothers will pass the unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine to the
congregation allowing each adult present to participate or not as he/she chooses. As Jesus and His apostles commanded
this is done in memory of Jesus' body and blood given at Calvary for our sins.
These same brothers will then pass the collection plates to allow each person present the opportunity
to voluntarily give as he/she has prospered. In this, as in all things, we try to strictly follow the divine pattern in the
Bible, hence this is the only way the church raises the necessary funds to carry on the Lord's Work.
We have no denominational affiliation or earthly headquarters. We automatically have
unity and fellowship with all who accept and practice Jesus and the Apostles' teaching. We observe
the Lord's Supper each Sunday, according to Apostolic precedent.
Our music is the praise of our lips without mechanical accompaniment as was church
worship during the first six centuries of Christianity. Our prayers are heartfelt and spontaneous.
Church membership and salvation together are dependent upon an obedient faith in
Jesus Christ as God's Son. This means our faith leads us to repent of our sins and to be baptized into
Jesus Christ by immersion for the remission of our sins. Such obedience is proof that faith is real and constitutes the
human part of the new birth, with God cleansing from sin and adding that part of the new birth, and adding that person to His church.
